Six Months Later!

Few places on our small planet have suffered more repeated disasters in the past decade, resulting in loss of life and destruction of property, than the United States Gulf Coast. Katrina was bad. For many areas, Ivan was even worse. The BP blowout, resulted from insatiable GREED,  and hunger for carbon-based fuels.    These things are among the true causes, and reasons for the blowout. For me, it’s still a challenge, to attempt to wrap my brain around the size and complexity, of what has transpired since April 20, 2010, at the Macondo, Deep Water Horizon site.  I don’t live in the area, but I do know,  that the event  has altered life, in that particular area, irrevocably, and for many years to come.

Where Are Those “Green” Jobs?

During those early days, of the Obama administration, environmentalists believed, they had found the message to carry them to victory.  The stage was set, on what promised to be a grueling debate, over energy and climate policy. The topic was, and still is this: At a time of soaring unemployment, (which is still the case), a climate bill, would create thousands, or millions of new “clean energy, or green” jobs.  So, where are these jobs?  You may have noticed signs, along the road, in your area, stating, where your tax dollars are going.  Funny, thing is, the money was spent on the signs, not on fixing the ROADS.  So much, for our stimulus dollars at work,  but NOT, our people being EMPLOYED!

Check Out The Nu-Yello!

Did you know that Yellow Pages advertising is over 100 years old? Unfortunately, since the first Yellow Pages directory was printed back in 1883, there has been very little variation to the formula: businesses pay a premium to advertise in the Yellow Pages directory, and a large directory is printed by the Yellow Pages operator, to be distributed free to the public every year.

Since, the Yellow Pages was started however, the world has changed DRAMATICALLY. Most people now use the Internet, to conduct even their local searches and with their Internet. Today,with enabled mobile handsets permanently by their side, it is becoming almost impossible to justify the continued production and distribution of Yellow Pages paper directories, at such a massive cost to the environment.
