Whole Foods uses it, New Belgium uses it, even Wal-Mart sees the value of wind energy. So, what is holding back the rest of the country?

Miguel Gonzalez, Graduate of the Master’s program, on Sustainable Architecture and Energy Efficiency at BES La Salle, Barcelona, Spain and LEED Green Associate Course with Everblue Training Institute, explained the obstacles of wind energy in the following way:

“Wind Power needs to be taken care of, it takes a lot of money and time to run a wind farm, but the government offers incentives to develop the technologies and improve our current technologies. In Europe the wind farms and technology development are usually funded by private companies that receive huge government incentives. Any green incentive requires three parts to be successful – people, to run the program, a strong care for the planet, and a way to be profitable. No one wants to invest in a project that they won’t see a profit even if the investors have a strong sense of environmental integrity.”

With gas prices quickly approaching $4/gallon, could an oil revolution due to our dependency happen here?

The countries owning most of the planet’s oil reserves, are in the midst of, growing political turmoil.  The economic stability, of the entire world, remains at risk,  until an alternative to our oil addiction, is shaken off, and a new energy source is developed, to end our oil dependency.

It’s that time of year, when we need to do all we can to keep warm, and save money, on our electric bill.  Think of it like, getting an oil change, or maintenance, on your car.  The only difference is, you are doing it on your house.

Creating and maintaining, a healthy indoor environment is most important to anyone who suffers from allergies.  Regardless, of their needs, the savvy customer knows, that there are dehumidifiers, that reduce mold and mildew, and air purification/ventilation systems that can ease their symptoms.  If you use wood heat, it is important to have a tea kettle near by, to keep some moisture in the air.  It all helps, to stay well, and free from colds and flu.
